Godot Tutorial: Create Realistic Water With Dynamic Foam

We've been seeing more and more gorgeous Godot water lately, like this Sea of Thieves-inspired project and this one featuring whirlpools. If you're interested in making your own water shader, Emil J has you covered.
You can follow along as he creates beautiful Gerstner waves from scratch while explaining how they work. He covers wave direction, phase, vertical and horizontal displacement, combining multiple waves, adding noise, and calculating normals for better lighting and reflections.
By the end, you'll have a fully animated water shader that you can build on further with this video, where you'll learn how to create dynamic ocean foam using the Jacobian determinant and Gerstner wave displacement:
