Take a Look at This Mysterious and Detailed Environment with an Eerie Atmosphere

You can imagine the sounds in the scene like you are part of it.

Rita Poulus, 3D Environment Artist, shared on ArtStation her environment named Southern Eternal. The scene shows a port that appears to be from an old world.

The details in the buildings, the coffins, and the mix of colors used in the scene create a storytelling that, in my case, makes me think of pirates or a city where an illness is spreading.

Poulus said that she took inspiration from Dishonored and Resident Evil 4 to create the environment.

This was created as a Mentorship project for the Think Tank Training Center. The artist added that it challenged her to learn a new workflow and use different tools, like Nanite, while keeping the ones she already knew.

The idea was based on a concept by Marco Gorlei. Poulus also shared a video of the creation process.

The software used for this was Unreal Engine, Maya, ZBrush, Substance 3D Designer, Substance 3D Painter, and Marvelous Designer.

You can also check Rita's interview, where she discussed the Wizard's House project.
