You Will Want to Live in This Peaceful Countryside Environment

The water looks so fresh and chill, I could definitely imagine myself living in that house.

Ezgi Y. Akhan, 3D Environment and Prop Artist, shared on her ArtStation a countryside environment she created during her free time.

The artist said that creating this allowed her to improve her skills in Unreal Engine and to experiment with techniques and workflows she hadn't tried before. The environment is based on a concept made by Wiktoria Sonia Sońta, who is a 2D/3D Environment Artist.

Ezgi Y. Akhan also mentioned that her goal was to create a scene that looks good both from a distance and when seen up close, making the details more obvious.

Check out some of the props to see just how much care and attention went into placing each object intentionally:

The scene was created using Blender, Substance 3D Painter, Substance 3D Designer, ZBrush, Unreal Engine, Photoshop, Procreate, DaVinci Resolve, and Houdini.

The artist shared more WIPs of the materials, foliage, and decals as well:

Akhan explained that she used the decals on the left mostly on the house walls to add more surface variation, and the decals on the right were used on the sacks.

Here are some images showing a more detailed breakdown of the workflow. She started the project in Procreate to test the "painterly feel" of everything, and then moved into Substance Designer to refine and add textures.

You can see the entire process below:

You can also take a look at Ezgi Y. Akhan's hand-painted lemons that we shared a few years ago.
