Cinematic Dead Samurai Character Created with Layered Materials in UE5

Aleksey Strigunov shared this work with detailed texturing.

Aleksey Strigunov, 3D Character Artist at Mundfish, presented this fantasy character model of a dead samurai, created using ZBrush, Marvelous Designer, Substance 3D, and Unreal Engine 5, with the inspiration drawn from the work of the talented Artist Vyacheslav Safronov.

The artist continues experimenting with layered materials in UE5, trying to achieve a cinematic look without going beyond real-time rendering. According to the creator, around 80% of the character's materials are procedurally generated, combining 1K textures with base layers for added detail.
