Anima 5 with Unreal Engine 5 Sneak Peek Released

The character animation software will soon be out in beta.

AXYZ Design released a sneak peek video of Anima 5 – a new version of the character animation software.

The video shows a real-time preview made with Anima 5 and Unreal Engine 5.

Anima has an AI system, which allows the characters to avoid each other, to get on and off stairs, escalators, tracks, moving sidewalks, and much more. The characters are driven by real mocap data and an AI engine with an automatic procedural motion, so the program can help you achieve realistic crowd animations.

The people used for the preview are models from the studio's Metropoly – a software providing 3D characters.

AXYZ Design promised to release Anima 5 in beta soon. The graphics look fantastic. The animations though look all running very much synchronized; timed (which ultimatelly is impossible to avoid as they share core cycles). Accelerations, bigger differences on speed, movements not maching the music and other factors could be tried. A bit more of randomness. The camera drag is bad. Also the framerate tells off the ilusion. But all in all, it's incredible!
