BioWare's Ex-General Manager Creates a New Game Studio

Casey Hudson is now CEO of Humanoid Studios, "a new independent videogame company built to unleash the creative freedom of developers."

Casey's new studio is already working on a new IP though at this point there is no further information regarding the game. The studio is actively hiring new talents including Gameplay Programmers and Designers, Level Designers, 3D Artists, and others.

Casey Hudson spent almost 20 years in total working at BioWare. The game developer first joined the company in 1998 as a Junior Technical Artist and co-created the famous Mass Effect franchise alongside Preston Watamaniuk and Drew Karpyshyn. In the early 2000s, Casey was also Project Director of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

In 2014, Casey left the company to later join Microsoft as a Creative Director of HoloLens Experiences. In 2017, Casey Hudson returned to BioWare as a General Manager. However, 3 years into the new position at the studio, the game developer made a decision to go solo and create a brand new video game company. In the goodbye blogpost, Casey says "I still have tremendous energy to create, but also that I need to try something different."
