Cinema 4D R23 Revealed

Maxon presented Cinema 4D R23, an important update to its animation and rendering software featuring a new character solver, new facial rig, plus more.

The new version enhances UV editing tools, supports color correction toolset Magic Bullet Looks, and offers an early preview of Project: Neutron, Maxon’s brand-new node-based core architecture.

When it comes to the software’s UV workflows, the update adds multi-object support. You can display the UVs of multiple objects within a scene within the UV Editor, plus pack them multiple sets into a single UV tile.

The update introduces new tools for tidying up UV tiles, plus abilities to align UV islands based on selected edges, straighten selected edges, and more.

As for animation, the update introduces more advanced character animation tools. There's a new dedicated facial rig from Walt Disney Animation Studios character TD Bret Bays.

The new joint-based rig allows users to generate realistic deformations without the need to sculpt blend shapes.
