Control Reached 10M Players Worldwide

Remedy had a 3.3% increase in revenue reaching €17.5 million.

Remedy shared its financial results for the first half of 2021. The latest numbers state they had a 3.3% increase in revenue which reached €17.5 million in the latest period. The operating profit changed from €3.16 million to €3.15 million.

As for the three months ended June 2021, revenue increased 3.2% to €9.4 million, while operating profit grew 10% and reached €2.3 million.

Remedy CEO Tero Virtala added that Control's royalty revenues were slightly higher in Q2 2021 compared to Q2 2020 (the company has released the title's Ultimate Edition on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in February. The manager said Control has reached 10 million players worldwide since its launch in August 2019. 

The report also notes that the cash balance by the end of Q2 2020 was €60.6 million giving the studio "stronger means to execute [its] strategy and carry out [its] ambitious long-term growth plans."

For those of you who missed the news in June, Remedy has announced a co-publishing and development deal with 505 Games for a multiplayer spin-off called Condor plus a "bigger-budget Control-game." Additionally, they are developing two projects with Epic Games.
