DevGAMM to Hold Its 44th Edition in Vilnius this June

The international game development conference is returning to the capital of Lithuania on June 20-21, marking its second event in the city.

DevGAMM, an international game development conference born in Ukraine, has announced its 44th edition, which will be taking place in Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva in Vilnius, the capital and largest city of Lithuania, on the 20th and 21st of June this year.

The conference has arranged 43 events in seven countries to date and is known for its huge international following and diverse roster of online and on-ground activities. June’s event will mark DevGAMM’s second time in Vilnius, where it held another conference last year, hosting 750 game development professionals from 36 countries and 61 speakers from 20 countries representing household names like Guerrilla Games, Bethesda Game Studios, and Ubisoft. This year, they are expecting a 1000+ turnout.

“These numbers mean so much to us because they represent what DevGAMM is all about - bringing people together over the love of games. Everywhere we go, more and more people decide to put aside everything else for two whole days, and focus on creating, learning, and really getting to know each other, and every time, something magical happens within our halls!”, says Lerika Mallayeva, CEO and founder of DevGAMM.

The conference program is already live. You may take a look at the Keynote lineup for this Vilnius event:

  • Kim Aava, Lead Environment Artist at EA DICE,
  • Maxim Chuvalov, Change Director at Wargaming,
  • Chelsea Blasko, co-CEO of Iron Galaxy Studios,
  • Mike Rafiienko, Head of Franchise at tinyBuild,
  • Rami Ismail, Independent Consultant and Cofounder of Vlambeer.

The program tracks will include Art and Visual, Audio and Sound, Business, Game Design and Narrative, Indie Games, Marketing, Project Management, Talent Management, Technology, and Development.

The two-day program offers various activities to facilitate meaningful connections between attendees. Developers can showcase their creations at the Game Showcase, pitch to significant game brands, publishers, and investors at the Public Pitch, attend detailed sessions by industry experts within their preferred conference track, or participate in roundtable discussions about trending topics in their field.

DevGAMM is also home to one of the most prestigious award shows in the region. The DevGAMM Awards honor exceptional games in six different categories: Best Game of the Show; the holy grail of the ceremony, Best Game from the Baltic States; a special category honoring exceptional games whose core development team is based in Latvia, Lithuania, or Estonia, Most Anticipated Game, People’s Choice; a category honoring the most appealing game from the DevGAMM x Vilnius ‘23 Game Showcase as voted by the audience, Best Mobile Game, and Best Visual Art. The nominees are already announced.

Not all of DevGAMM’s program is industry-related, the conference has also added a number of fun activities for attendees to enjoy when they’re in between sessions. Anastasiia Oleynikova, PR Manager at DevGAMM, shares their most popular entertainment activity, DevGAMM Quest. “The idea is simple: attendees go on a treasure hunt around the conference halls to collect stamps and win cool prizes. When they’re done, they can head over to the Career Wall and hunt down their next opportunity at some of the best companies around.”

Anastasiia continues: “As not all connections are made on purpose, we also make sure to include at least three parties where people can relax and get to know each other in a less serious setting.”

After war broke out in Ukraine, DevGAMM started holding charity auctions for war relief, and in last year’s conference at Vilnius, DevGAMM partnered with a number of organizations to raise $20,000 through charity auction bids as well as ticket and sponsorship package proceeds. This year, they are also offering a 25% discount on Vilnius ticket purchases for development teams based in Ukraine, which they can easily retrieve by contacting the team at games@devgamm.com.
