MENA Gaming & eSports Summit: Sharing the Highlights

The organizers of the 2nd Annual MENA Gaming & eSports Summit unveiled the results of the event which took place in May.

"The gaming and eSports industry has experienced a remarkable surge globally, now amounting to billions of dollars. In the MENA region, this growth is particularly significant due to the region's growing youth population and income. The United Arab Emirates, in particular, stands out as one of the leading gaming markets with a high player population.", says the conference team.

The 2nd Annual MENA Gaming & eSports Summit, organized by Verve Management, concluded with over 200 attendees. The summit focused on showcasing the masterminds behind the industry, shifting attention from gaming and eSports in general, and discussed the rise of cloud gaming as evidence of the industry's ability to adapt to the changing post-pandemic world.

During the 2nd Annual MENA Gaming & eSports Summit, Andrea Prazakova from Mastercard highlighted the use of innovative technologies like cryptocurrency for payments and blockchain for provenance in gaming's emergence in Web3. Jing Wang, CEO of Sawa Group, stressed the importance of localization and the support from governments in the region to drive cultural outcomes in gaming and eSports. Lokesh Suji, Director at the eSports Federation of India & VP at the Asian eSports Federation, emphasized the significance of media fitting the GCC's language and culture, leading to greater consumer loyalty and acceptance.

The MENA Gaming & eSports Summit showcased the considerable growth opportunities in the region's gaming industry. Tariq Radwan Al Kfaery, the eSports Lead MENA at Riot Games, emphasized the importance of education, strategy, investment, and support to ensure the industry's success in the region.
