Multiverse USD 6.7 for Maya is Now Available

J Cube ships the latest version of Multiverse that features USD Blend Shapes, USD Purposes, and other useful tools.

J Cube announces the immediate release of Multiverse USD 6.7. One of the new features added to the latest version is USD Blend Shapes that allows you to write assets with Maya blendShape deformer as USD blend shapes. It supports multiple shape targets and in-between shapes, plus you can write your data with skeleton animation and skin weights.

Another new feature is USD Purposes that allows you to choose whether to read render, proxy, and guide purpose before and after reading the data. Purpose is now orthogonal to the viewport modes which makes it possible to selectively see purposes in any view mode.

J Cube also added support for writing pending (unwritten) overrides when writing compositions with Compositions with Auto-Saved-Overrides . Now file names are generated automatically using the Compound shape name and the write timestamp. This means you can now read multiple Compounds, set Overrides, and save the pending overrides with a single Write Composition operation.

Apart from that, J Cube improved multiple tools and features. For instance, with Asset Write you can now write hardware shader as overrides. VRay is now much faster with an increased speed of initialization and rendering finalization. 3Delight now supports overriding the visibility to shadow rays.
