Otoy Launches Sculptron 1.0

The team released the first commercial version of their GPU-based tool.

Otoy is launching Sculptron 1.0, the first commercial version of the company's GPU-based tool for sculpting animation caches and converting mesh sequences to volumes. Previously, the tool spent a year in public alpha.

The first commercial release introduces an Outliner and Scene Graph, object transforms and modifiers, viewport HDRI lighting, and more.

The toolkit will be rental-only from now on, with an annual subscription set at €9.99/month. If you buy a new Wacom Cintiq Pro or MobileStudio Pro pen display, you get three months for free.

The release introduces the option to tweak 3D meshes without the need to sculpt the changes directly. There's also a scene camera, so you can set up camera animations and animate meshes.

What is more, Sculptron now features a new PBR material with support for UV textures, plus a new Environment item for users to apply HDRI lighting.
