PS5 US Shipments Increased by 400% in September

It seems that improvements are coming in stock, at least in the US.

The semiconductor shortages have been one of the big issues lately, which is why getting a PS5 or Xbox Series X has been almost an impossible task for a number of users. However, it seems that improvements are coming in stock, at least in the US.

According to MST Financial Senior Analyst David Gibson, Sony has increased PlayStation 5 shipments in the US by 400% year-on-year for the month of September.

Gibson posted a series of tweets where he talked about improvements in the supply of new-gen consoles noting that probably with the upcoming launch of God of War Ragnarök which is coming out in less than a month, the company decided to ramp up the production of PS5 to improve shipments.

"Import data into the US confirms that Sony Interactive (PlayStation) shipments in Sept were +400% YoY. Yes you read that right," he wrote. "Some of that will go into inventory for GoW launch for sure."

Gibson also spoke about the shipments of Xbox and Nintendo consoles saying that there is an increase in Xbox distributions as well. According to him, Xbox supply in the US in September increased by 89% year-on-year.

Meanwhile, Nintendo did not do very well with a -59% in September. However, the analyst pointed out that "the company is ramping production and is using airfreight" (while the data Gibson used was sea freigh), so shipments of Nintendo "may not be as bad as shown."
