The 18th ChinaJoy Will Be Held As Scheduled

During the conference, Zhang Yijun, the first deputy chairman of China Audio-video and Digital Publishing Association (CADPA), pointed out at the conference that ChinaJoy is one of the key priorities the Association focuses on annually, and an important means that the Association serves the industry. By fully participating in the exhibition activities, it reflects the role and great value of the Association as a platform to actively lead the industry development.

He pointed out that in facing the huge impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the entire industry should actively respond it to make a difference. And after comprehensive consideration, analysis and judgment the ChinaJoy Organizing Committee has decided that the 18th ChinaJoy Exhibition will be held as scheduled in a more diverse manner.

Mr. Wang Yayuan, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipality Committee, commended that for the past 17 years, ChinaJoy has played an active role in promoting the development of China's digital entertainment industry and building Shanghai into the global e-sports capital. He further emphasized that in this special period, we should fully play out of ChinaJoy's role as a professional and international industrial platform to promote industry exchanges and cooperation and create a good business environment for enterprises to develop. This year's 18thChinaJoy will be held as scheduled at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from July 31 to August 3.

He revealed that the second Contest of Original Art Games will also hold an awards ceremony at ChinaJoy where it will display the award-winning game works, particularly focusing on those games which achieve new transformations and developments. He said in order to promote the construction of Shanghai as the global e-sports capital, Global E-sports Conference will be held on August 1st to promote interactions and exchanges for the industry of the world, promote the healthy development of China's e-sports industry, and enhance the competitiveness of China's e-sports industry globally.

Han Zhihai, Secretary General of the Organizing Committee, ChinaJoy and Chairman of the Board of the Directors of Howell International Trade Fair Ltd., introduced that this exhibition is themed as "Technology • Lead the New Wave of Digital Entertainment". While ChinaJoy this year will hold the traditional 3 exhibitions i.e. China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference (ChinaJoy), Global Smart Entertainment Hardware Expo (eSmart), and Comic & Animation World Amazing Expo (CAWAE), it will also inaugurate new exhibitions such as ChinaJoy Toy Show (CJTS), the 5G Cloud Game exhibition area, the Board Game exhibition area, and the Indie Game exhibition area and many others.

During the ChinaJoy, it will hold China Digital Entertainment Congress (CDEC), Global Game Industry Summit, China Game Developers Conference (CGDC), Global E-Sports Conference, while launching a brand-new Global Cloud Game Industry Conference. In addition to the National Competition of ChinaJoy Cosplay Carnival, the ChinaJoy Awesome Dancer Contest and the Cover Coser Competition, it will also hold the first “LuoShangHuafu” fashionable culture activity concurrently. This year, ChinaJoy will achieve both online and offline availability for the first time and launch the first "ChinaJoy Plus" cloud exhibition.

Finally, he particularly emphasized that ChinaJoy will seriously formulate and improve epidemic curbing measures and emergency plans according to the requirements of the epidemic prevention authorities of Shanghai and Pudong New Area. It will take the Anti-epidemic measures such as real-name registration, temperature testing, admission by swiping the "health code" ID cards or passports, the extension of exhibition time, and staggered distribution of hot exhibition areas, etc.
