Tip on Houdini Vellum Hair

VFXArabia showed a nice trick that will allow you to increase the resolution of simulated vellum hair. In this case, the artist simulated 350 pieces and increased the number to 5000.

There are three quick steps:

• Generate the low res strands.
• Create a vellum simulation.
• Generate a high-resolution version and use the low resolution as a guide.
