Xiaomi introduced its new flagship smartphones 12S, 12S Pro, and 12S Ultra.

On Monday, the Chinese manufacturer of consumer electronics Xiaomi introduced its new flagship smartphones 12S, 12S Pro, and 12S Ultra. Here’s everything we know so far about the three phones.

Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro are powered by an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with a clock frequency of up to 3.2 GHz. The smartphones feature 8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256/512 GB of storage.

Xiaomi 12S received a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution (the same display its predecessor, Xiaomi 12, had), a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and support for Dolby Vision. The device also features a triple camera setup with a Leica lens that includes a 50-megapixel main camera with support for optical image stabilization, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5-megapixel macro lens.

As for 12S Pro, it’s a bit larger than 12S and has better-specced cameras and display. The smartphone features a 6.73-inch E5 AMOLED display with a dynamic 1-120Hz refresh rate and a 2K resolution. The camera module of 12S Pro includes a main, telephoto, and ultra-wide-angle cameras with a resolution of 50 megapixels.

The battery capacity of the 12S is 4500 mAh and the 12S Pro is 4600 mAh. The 12S model supports fast charging with a power of 67W, and the 12S Pro with a power of 120 W.

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra is the most high-end model of the 12S line. The smartphone comes with a 6.73-inch 120Hz LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display with a 2K resolution. The device supports AdaptiveSync Pro technology, due to which the screen refresh rate varies from 1 to 120 Hz, depending on the running application.

As with the other two phones, the 12S Ultra uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The smartphone features a 4860mAh battery with 67W wired charging and 50W wireless.

The 12S camera module includes a 48-megapixel periscope-style telephoto lens, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel wide lens. As with the other two models, the company developed the optics in collaboration with Leica.

Xiaomi reported that the light sensitivity of the smartphone's main camera is 76% higher than that of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Due to this, the 12S Ultra is able to capture detailed images even in low light conditions, while eliminating various defects, including chromatic aberration and flare.

The Xiaomi 12S starts at CNY 4,000 (about $600) for the base 8/128GB model, and 12S Pro at CNY 4,700 for the 8/128GB model (about $700). The base 12S Ultra model with 8 GB and 256 GB of memory is priced at CNY 6,000 (about $895).
