Diablo Immortal Being Investigated for False Advertising

A law firm has started an investigation into Diablo Immortal’s "misleading" Blessing of the Worthy gem.

A class action specialty firm Migliaccio & Rathod has started an investigation into Diablo Immortal’s description of the Blessing of the Worthy gem, which the firm calls "false advertising."

In October 2022, Blizzard was at the center of a controversy after Diablo Immortal players discovered that the Blessing of the Worthy gem, which was sold in various in-game bundles that cost up to $100, had discrepancies in the wording of its description.

At upgrade levels one and two, the description of the gem stated that it granted a 20% chance to do damage worth 12% of a player's maximum life. However, at level 3, it was written that its effect would have a 20% chance to do damage worth 12% of a player’s current life.

The functionality of the gem, which deals damage based on current life rather than maximum life, has been widely criticized by players, as it greatly diminishes the gem's effectiveness in situations where a player's current life is low.

Many players have called out the game developer, Blizzard, for not being clear on the gem's description. The company later acknowledged the confusion and changed the description of the gem's levels 1 and 2 to match the level 3 description which was more accurate.

Players have been vocal about their dissatisfaction on forums and social media, with some jokingly suggesting that the gem now should be renamed "Blessing of the Unworthy" to reflect its perceived shortcomings and others threatening a class action lawsuit due to the gem's "misleading text description."

Apparently, in response to this, lawyers at Migliaccio & Rathod have started an investigation into Diablo Immortal's description of the gem. The firm is currently looking for players who purchased the gem and were upset about its effect due to its "false advertising."
