EA Reveals "Pre-Pre-Pre Alpha" Skate Footage

Skate developers unveiled a new skate. trailer featuring early gameplay and opened the registration for closed playtesting.

Back in 2020, Electronic Arts announced that a new Skate game was on the way. In April 2022, some footage of Skate 4 was leaked showing that the game was in early development as the models didn't really have any details or textures. And now, the developer Full Circle unveiled an official first look at the upcoming game.

The game will now be called skate. and a trailer warns viewers that the footage the viewers will see in it is a "pre-pre-pre-alpha."

"We told you we’re back, and we’re still working on it – but it’s time for you to see what we’ve been up to," EA said. "It’s still early, but we want to get this right and that means we want you to be a part of it."

The trailer shows gameplay footage from prototypes and early versions of the game and demonstrates some of the tricks, a huge wall with ramps and rails as well as parkour mechanics. The video begins with a mechanical showcase depicting a world without textures which later transforms into something a little more polished.

The developers have not yet disclosed details about their next skate sim, but they have launched registration for closed playtesting. According to them, tests with players will start to be carried out "much sooner than is the norm in our industry." It is not clear how often they will be held, but anyone over 18 years old can sign up.

The first tests will take place only on PC via Origin, but later the developer also plans to expand testing to more platforms. All participants will be prohibited from recording gameplay in any form, as well as sharing impressions outside of special channels with developers.
