Despite the passing of its creator earlier this year, the role-playing series Eiyuden Chronicles, the spiritual successor to the classic JRPG Suikoden, will carry on.

The sequel to Suikoden's spiritual successor, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, aims to honor the legacy of its creator, Yoshitaka Murayama. Murayama, who passed away due to complications from an ongoing illness in early February, had released Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising in 2022 but did not live to witness the full release of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes this year.

"It is very sad that Murayama is not with us anymore, but we have discussed many things with him. I hope we will be able to carry on Murayama's legacy, and I always want to treasure his last work. I hope many people will support this game," shared the development team, including Junko Kawano, Eiyuden Chronicle's Character Designer, Osamu Komuta, Director and System Designer, and Art Director Junichi Murakami.

Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes is coming later this week, on April 23, and it'll be available across PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Switch. You can find it on Steam.

"We want to maintain his legacy and vision with this game and know that he would have wanted the rich world he has created with Eiyuden Chronicle to live on."
