Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn Presents An Extended Gameplay Trailer

Take a deep dive into Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn and learn more about the rhythm-based combat system, a wide array of weapons, reputation points, companions, and side quests with this freshly released extended gameplay overview narrated by the developers.

The upcoming weapon-packed, magic-fueled action RPG Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, originally set to release in 2023, is now back with a new deep dive trailer, featuring nine minutes of new gameplay, along with the commentary from the game's Creative Director and Associate Art Director.

This action-heavy RPG has been compared to Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and even God Of War before since it shares similar impactful combat, a beautiful open world, and overall aesthetics, yet it manages to put its own spin on the genre. Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is set in a world where the Gods and their armies of the Dead overrun the lands of Kian with no one to defend the small towns and villages. You will play as Nor Vanek, a flintlock weapon expert of the Coalition army, who along with her mystical fox-like companion Enki find themselves in a relentless battle against the gods and the undead. As Nor, you will also meet and recruit your former Coalition team to devise a plan to break the siege and end the war once and for all.

Flintlock's new trailer is divided into several chapters, covering such topics as campsites, combat and mobility, weapons, enemies, Enki's abilities, reputation system, Coffee Shops, side quests, and exploration.

As you travel throughout the world, you can establish your Caravan at key rest locations, allowing you to prepare for your next adventure. This adds the feeling of a large and alive society, navigating through a world filled with caravans and hamlets where you can complete side quests and trade Reputation earned through combat for cosmetics.

Flintlock features a demanding yet rewarding "souls-lite" combat system blending axe-wielding, gunplay, magic, and more in rhythmic battles where combos chain together. Each enemy's attack pattern needs to be learned and mastered.

Extreme mobility is also a big part of gameplay, since it allows for fluid and fast-paced action, using your explosive black powder jump and dodge abilities.

Enki's power offers a strong buff to your attacks. As Nor increases her bond with Enki, she'll unlock powerful magical abilities called Witherings. Enki's Withering gauge will build over time and when it's full, Nor and Enki can fuse together and unleash a devastating ultimate attack.

As for Reputation, it's the currency in the world of Flintlock and represents your fame and experience. It can be spent to obtain skills and items and craft upgrades to your weapons and armor.

Engaging in combat and defeating enemies is one of the best ways to build your reputation.

When you defeat the boss of a Hamlet, one of many settlements around the world, you will gain access to the local Coffee Shop. Every Coffee Shop has a Host, which in order will give you access to their shop where you can cash in Reputation for customization.

Finally, since the Coffee Shop is the central hub of every Hamlet, these Hosts know everything going on in the local area and will offer up Rumours, the basis of Flintlock's side quests. You can either follow up on a Rumor or engage in conversation with a local character you've met in the world to start an optional quest.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is set to release this summer on Windows, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
