Honor of Kings Was the Top-Grossing Mobile Game in February 2022

According to Sensor Tower's report, Tencent's Honor of Kings topped February’s global mobile game list with approximately $225 million in player spending, followed by PUBG Mobile which generated $205.2 million.

Tencent's Honor of Kings became the top-grossing mobile game across the App Store and Google Play in February 2022. The news was reported by Sensor Tower, a mobile application and mobile game intelligence platform. According to the report, the game reached $225 million in customer spending with about 96.2% of its revenue coming from China.

PUBG Mobile which was also published by Tencent took the second highest spot with $205.2 million in gross revenue. As well as with the Honor of Kings, the major part of its revenue was delivered by the Chinese users (64.2%), followed by 7.7% generated in the US. Genshin Impact, Candy Crush Saga, and Roblox held the same position as last month, in third, fourth, and fifth spots respectively.

In total, consumers spent around $6.6 billion on mobile games in February 2022, which reflects a 7.6% decrease compared to the same period the year earlier. The US generated $1.9 billion (28.6% of total player spending worldwide) becoming the leading market for global revenue followed by Japan which contributed at 18.8%. China ranked No.3 with approximately 17% of global consumer spending, although it's worth noting that Google Play is not available in the country.
