League of Legends Champions Will Appear in Riot's MMO

Greg Street, the executive producer of League of Legends MMO, recently shared some additional details on the upcoming game explaining how the champions will be introduced there.

All Riot Games games set in the Runeterra universe, one way or another, are tied to League of Legends champions as the major part of the lore is revealed through them. However, the upcoming MMO will give players the opportunity to create their own characters, so the fans of the universe wondered if the champions will appear in the new game and what kind of relationship their characters will have with the champions.

When asked this question on Twitter, Street confirmed that the famous champions will meet players' characters in the game and added that they won't be just simple cameos.

"So the champions are the cornerstone of our IP. They have to appear," Street said. "However we also have a lot of them and we want to do right by them (more than a cameo) so it might be some time before anyone’s favorite shows up."

In a separate thread, Street also answered other fans' questions. He revealed that the developers will probably first arrange closed testing for the MMO, and only then show the gameplay footage to everyone. He noted that the team would like to get as much player feedback as possible to make possible adjustments based on it.

Greg Street previously said that Riot wants to share more details about their MMO before the end of 2022 but he tries not to promise anything. In previous threads on Twitter, the producer also mentioned that there is "no guarantee" that the game will ever be released, and even if it does, it won't be for everyone.
