New Trailer for Dune Awakening Offers a Closer Look at Arrakis

Funcom has shared a sneak peek at the exciting adventure its open-world survival MMO will bring.

Funcom, the developer of Dune: Awakening, which was first announced in 2022, has shown off its progress by releasing a new trailer, taking everyone to the heart of the desert planet Arrakis, where few humans can survive.

The trailer offers a compelling first look at the fully explorable, perilous world of Arrakis. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the graphics bring the dangerous yet amazing landscapes of the planet to life, further heightening the anticipation for the upcoming game.

The game's story revolves around the fierce struggle for control over the planet's most valuable resource, the spice Melange. This potent substance is capable of extending life, enhancing mental abilities, and even enabling interstellar travel, making it a much-wanted item among the fighting groups.

Except for managing your resources carefully and building and defending your base, you'll encounter the huge, terrifying, and extremely dangerous colossal sandworms of Arrakis, which add an extra layer of complexity and danger.
