Radeon ProRender 2.8 for Maya Available

To celebrate Autodesk University 2019, the team updated their plug-ins bringing Full Spectrum Rendering Vulkan ray tracing for the Maya v2.8 plug-in, new user documentation, and more.

The Radeon ProRender plug-in for Autodesk 3ds Max v2.6 is now more powerful with a number of core updates to the rendering software and denoisers. The team has also introduced updates to the .rpr export functionality. "These exported files can be used to pass data between plug-ins or rendered from the command line with the “RPRSRender64.exe” utility," noted Autodesk.

As for Maya, Autodesk added Full Spectrum Rendering modes for rendering (Windows only), bringing Vulkan-based ray tracing for fast viewport and final renders. You can use it for quick “playblast” style previews, for example. Users are allowed to set the quality level (from rasterized to fully path-traced (in OpenCL) render quality).

There's also the Maya’s MASH system that makes rendering pieces of dust on a floor or thousands of other dense scenarios look easy and fun.
