Resident Evil 4 Remake Sales Hit 4 Million Units

The game managed to reach this milestone within two weeks of its release.

Capcom announced that the worldwide shipments and digital sales of the Resident Evil 4 remake have exceeded 4 million units.

The publisher announced the news via a press release, also revealing that the franchise's total sales have now reached an astounding 135 million units.

Resident Evil 4 was released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam on March 24. According to earlier reports, the game had sold three million units within its first two days of release. This suggests that an additional one million copies were sold between March 26 and the current announcement.

Resident Evil 4 is a remade version of the original title from 2005. The 2023 release features updated story elements and modernized gameplay mechanics. Additionally, the game boasts immersive visuals powered by the advanced graphics technology of Capcom's proprietary RE ENGINE.

Today also marks the release of The Mercenaries DLC for Resident Evil 4, which is available for free. This small download is accessible on all platforms and offers a range of features, including the Mayhem Mode, where players must fight against both new and old characters to climb the leaderboards.
