Saints Row Reboot Has Officially Gone Gold

The upcoming game has gone gold ahead of its August launch.

The upcoming Saints Row reboot has officially gone gold meaning that work on the game is finished and it is ready to ship. What it also means is that the release is unlikely to be postponed.

The developers announced the news on July 19 – a little more than a month ahead of the game's launch. In a short post on Twitter, the studio wrote that the game is now "officially gold" and is "locked and loaded" for the August 23 release date. The team has also provided a link to preorder the game and learn more about what the upcoming reboot will bring.

Saints Row was originally scheduled to release in February 2022, however, the action-adventure game was delayed until the end of the summer of 2022. The title is being developed by Volition, which previously released a standalone character customization tool called Boss Factory where players can craft their own characters ahead of the game's launch.

The game's reboot will launch for PC (via Epic Games Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and Google Stadia. The title will be simply named Saints Row and will be a reboot of the entire series. It will take place in the fictional city Santo Ileso, which was inspired by the American southwest.
