Interactive Digital Artist and Shader Developer Matthew Yeager, a.k.a. Thew, has recently shared a lengthy Twitter thread demonstrating an incredible custom-made renderer for highly-scattering semi-transparent materials in Universal Render Pipeline (URP).

According to the developer, the renderer is perfectly capable of working with medical plastics, dirty and rough glass, and acrylic surfaces, bringing the realism of such objects to a whole new level. He added that the renderer was specifically tailored for such materials that mostly obscure what's behind them, but not entirely.
