A Mesmerizing Minesweeper Animation Made in Blender

The artist utilized the software's Geometry Nodes toolset to create the animation.

Digital Artist and Blender enthusiast Joe Bowers has recently showcased an incredible Geometry Nodes-powered system that allows the artist to create hypnotizing animations that look like a minesweeper field. According to the creator, the system is "instancing each square on a surface using an image texture playing an image sequence as the map," thus turning pre-rendered animations into minesweeper fields.

To demonstrate the system, the author presented an absolutely mesmerizing spinning donut animation attached above. In the future, the creator also plans to release the nodes behind the project via Instagram.
