All characters look so artificial...all movements of characters are unnatural :( CG industry has traveled by so many years of 3D development in all possible ways and all characters in animations looks still like puppets:(

We’ve already published an article on Pedro Medeiros‘ work, but this master deserves more than just one post. His Patreon’s tutorial series has so much for you to discover. The artist’s work is all about fun and easy education and you don’t want to miss that.

I am a game artist, game programmer and co-founder of MiniBoss. I made TowerFall art and Out There Somewhere. Now I’m working on Skytorn and Celeste.

My focus with this Patreon is to fund pixel art and other game development tutorials. I post a new 256×256 gif tutorial every Tuesday here, and on my twitter.

I avoid making Patreon-only posts because it is my personal philosophy that education should be free (when possible).

So, I’ll try to make everything accessible to as many people as possible.

I also want to make streams showing my process for creating art, putting it in the game and occasionally programming.

With your support, I can make those streams a regular thing and I’ll be able to keep working on more personal and original art and other projects.

Pedro Medeiros

Most of his posts are free to everyone and they are all super awesome. Please support a guru of pixel art if you find the series helpful.

Sasha: I use Aseprite for most things. It’s the best for animation in my opinion. I’m a working animator in both indie/pixel and fulltime employed by a bigger AAA studio, in case you wonder about my credibility.
