Assembly Summer is Finland’s biggest computer festival that gathers thousands of visitors every year to hone their computer skills, celebrate the summer and share time with friends and like-minded people. The festival is held in Messukeskus Expo and Convention Centre in Helsinki 1. – 4.8.2019.
Roots of Assembly trace back to 1992 when demo groups and individuals from the demoscene organized the first Assembly events. Assembly has been a catalyst to the Finnish game industry and has been part of the birth of Rovio, Supercell, Remedy, Housemarque and many more gaming companies created by the talents of the Finnish demoscene.
With a long-standing demoscene history, it is no surprise that the soul of Assembly Summer is the demoscene competitions in which digital arts, coding, and creativity intertwine together into masterpieces known as demos, all shown on a giant screen to thousands of visitors in the audience. The winners of each competition are chosen by voting – the audience gets to decide!
Besides the demoscene competitions, Assembly Summer 2019 will feature e-sport tournaments, a cosplay competition, loads of activities varying from machine dance to game jams and the biggest LAN-party Finland has yet seen with over 4400 available computer seats! There will always be plenty to do and experience at Assembly Summer.
