Calle Halldin, a Senior Animator at DNEG, has recently shared a mini-tutorial providing insights into setting up blink animations in 3D for cartoony non-photorealistic characters.

Utilizing Blender and a rig of Tom from Tom & Jerry, Halldin demonstrated the animation of eyebrows, eyelids, pupils, and the head itself, showcasing how each of them should operate for a tidy and believable blink sequence. Additionally, Halldin provided commentary on each step, explaining animation basics in a beginner-friendly manner.
