Cloud Experience Of The Week: Church In The Bayou

Check out the new experience added to the 80 Level's cloud streaming service.

This week we would like to highlight the work of Jeffrey Hepburn at All of it Now. The Church Graveyard was used as part of the screen content for the Chvrches Screen Violence tour, which was from 2021 to June of 2023.

Church in the Bayou

Created by Jeffrey Hepburn at All of it Now.

All of it Now was tasked with creative direction and content production for the full tour, and we wanted to use Unreal as much as possible as part of that content pipeline. A key creative theme for this tour was in using visual elements and motifs from old horror films, and this Church Graveyard scene was used for screen content in Chvrches' "How Not to Drown", featuring Robert Smith of the Cure.

By creating this environment in UE, we were able to create an environment that was bespoke to the artist, and direct our own virtual lighting, special effects, and camera motion and in ways that would not have been possible with stock assets, or even a location shoot. We were also able to embed easter eggs in the environment, like the "Love is Dead" graffiti on the tombstone, which was a reference to one of their past albums, and created a deeper connection for fans of their past albums.

These cloud experiences are just a glimpse of the incredible content available on the 80 Level Cloud Experiences platform.
