Could Cyberpunk 2077 Support VR?

We’re all waiting for the release of the CD Projekt’s game with Keanu Reeves, and one of the things that could make even better is VR, but could such game support it? The thing is that the president of CD Projekt RED has recently stated that the inclusion of VR support for Cyberpunk 2077 “is not terribly difficult.”

The president actually said that during CD Projekt RED’s FY19 Q1 earnings call, but don’t get excited just yet. Yes, we would throw money to dive into studying the game’s world in VR, and with the upcoming launches of next-gen consoles that seems quite possible.

“We render our graphics in 3D anyway — of course, the screen itself is flat, but if someone owns a 3D adapter and a pair of VR glasses, they can enjoy rudimentary VR,” said Kiciński.

Unfortunately, Kiciński then said that the team is “not moving in that direction right now” because of the challenges in terms of game design.

“The issue becomes more challenging when we factor in game design. There are substantial changes which must be taken into account when working on a VR-specific product. Our current focus is on the PC and console editions of Cyberpunk”.

So, no VR for now, but the team could still it add after release, right?
