3D Artist and Animator Pedro Alpiarça dos Santo, also known as probiner, has officially launched DASH, a great new package for SideFX's flagship procedural 3D software, Houdini, that introduces a set of quality-of-life utilities aimed at enhancing flexibility, improving access to information, and boosting user speed.
Designed to help users create highly performant alternatives for their specific cases, the pack comes with nodes, scripts, and settings that enhance your Houdini workflows. According to the creator, the first release of DASH comes with four SOPs, seven VOPs, one Desktop, one Shelf with two scripts, and one VEXpression to automatically color elements with rainbow Hue.
"First release is small and a revamp of assets I've first published on Orbolt," commented the author. "It is also representative of the type of nodes and principles that will be strived for in further releases: Small granular nodes that can be reused in many setups, more VOPs than SOPs because the latter is a very targeted context, VOPs with array signatures to reduce the constant need to use for loop to deal with arrays, menus with info and callback scripts that speed up the setup, and description messages for quicker overview awareness of the node operation in the node network."
