Here's How You Can Spot AI-Generated Images

Peter Chiykowski shared a detailed guide explaining what you should look for.

In this day and age, with AI-powered image generation software becoming more advanced by the day and AI-made images becoming more and more widespread, it's becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish between a real artwork and a computer-generated one, even for the most keen-eyed and observant individuals. Luckily, an unsung hero named Peter Chiykowski, a Designer and Comic Book Artist by trade, has recently offered a detailed guide on how to identify images created by artificial intelligence and tell them apart from authentic ones.

In his guide, stylized a series of comic book panels, the artist outlined the key indicators one should look for, such as weird text, warped outlines, lack of consistency across a scene, and repetitive patterns.

In addition, the guide reaffirmed the notion that no matter how smart artificial intelligence gets, it is still, at the end of the day, artificial and can have trouble with the internal logic of the generated image, leading to peculiar object placements and details within the scene. Speaking of AI-generated visuals, recently, OpenAI has recently faced criticism after The Wall Street Journal's interview with the company's CTO, Mira Murati, who showcased her mastery in avoiding questions by claiming that she is "not sure" about how their new video generator, Sora, was trained.
