LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System Announced

The LEGO Group and Nintendo worked together to create the LEGO version of the Nintendo Entertainment System, classic edition.

The LEGO Group has announced the release of the NES building kit for adults. The new kit gives an opportunity to go back in time and experience the excitement of playing the classic Mario game in the 1980s’ style. The kit includes a controller, a connecting cable and plug, an opening slot for the Game Pak, and a retro TV with an 8-bit Mario figure that you can use to recreate an actual Mario gameplay.

“Many adults still fondly remember that first time they saw Mario leap across the small screen, even if the graphics were a lot simpler than they are today. With the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System, we’re letting them truly indulge in that nostalgia, recreating one of the most-loved consoles of all time so they can see the Super Mario from their childhoods once again – and even to share the experience of gaming in the 1980s with their own children.”

Maarten Simons, Creative Lead on LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System

The product will be launched on August 1 and will be available for purchase in LEGO stores, on the website, and via retailers.
