OpenAI's DALL-E Can Now be Accessed Without a Waitlist

Lessons learned from real-world use made wider availability possible.

OpenAI announced today that they are removing DALL-E's waitlist entirely, allowing new users to start experimenting with the company's text-to-image AI right away. According to the company's announcement, over 1.5 million people are using DALL-E at the moment, creating over 2 million images per day. Thanks to feedback from such a large audience, OpenAI was able to add new features, such as Outpainting, and could quickly improve its safety systems, making the waitlist redundant.

"In the past months, we’ve made our filters more robust at rejecting attempts to generate sexual, violent, and other content that violates our content policy and built new detection and response techniques to stop misuse," commented the developers. "We can’t wait to see what users from around the world create with DALL·E. Sign up today and start creating."
