Character artist Bryan Bedford did a little personal project, creating an Overwatch version of his favorite commentator Soe Gschwind-Penski.
It’s not often that you see 3d artist modeling video-game celebrities. Much more often they’d do a tribute to some character, or try to revision a popular video game character in a particular style. With Overwatch, we’ve seen 3d artist build their own versions of Link from The Legend of Zelda, or Siri from The Witcher 3. Both amazing projects.
This time though, it’s different Bryan Bedford celebrated the end of the Overwatch League inaugural first season with a Brush sculpt of Soe – a popular Overwatch commentator.
I decided to give the Overwatch treatment to one of the league’s favorite host and commentators, Soe (@Soembie). She was such a fun subject to sculpt and I loved the challenge of capturing both her likeness and the Overwatch style in one piece. I am definitely taking on another full character in this style. The world could always use more heroes!
The bust was rendered in Marmoset Toolbag and sculpted in Zbrush.
