It might ultimately be proof of concept now, but the point of showing a low-count bounce raytracing that still looks decent especially after denoising gives us a nice roadmap on the future. Maybe given time, we will move to this as the new standard or at least a probable alternate to baked lighting.

Check out a tutorial by 3D Artist that will explain you the basic principles behind rigs in Maya. The guide shows how you can animate a nice-looking tropical fish inside the tool. This might not be the most thorough one, but it’s still good enough to get started with animation.  

Lewis Pickston shows you how to build a rig for a tropical fish model and then animate it procedurally using deformers. Not to be missed!
