Unreal Engine 5.1 Preview Is Now Available

The new version promises to deliver new features and improve upon the existing ones.

Epic Games have announced the release of Unreal Engine 5.1 Preview, a test-drive version of the engine's upcoming update that enables you to try out the new version before it is officially released.

According to the announcement shared by the team, UE5.1 Preview was designed to help them find bugs and issues so that they could fix them before the new version of the engine becomes available, with the plan being to release updated previews throughout the development cycle once the previous preview's issues are fixed.

As for its features, Unreal Engine 5.1 Preview promises to improve upon the features delivered with the engine's previous version, "creating more streamlined and easy-to-use workflows for real-time 3D content creation."

"Developers will see improved performance with Lumen, Nanite, and Virtual Shadow Maps (VSM), now supporting games running at 60 FPS on next-generation consoles and PCs," reads the company's official announcement. "Build expansive worlds using new functionality and improved workflows for World Partition, including support for Large World Coordinates. And enjoy significant improvements to cinematic pipelines, such as performance and usability improvements for ICVFX."
