3D Artists Test Launching Unreal Engine & Blender on Steam Deck

Some of them also demonstrated art pieces made using the handheld.

If there's one thing that is true for any artist is that for them – limits only exist to push beyond them. Recently, the 3D art community proved that once more by launching the beloved and commonly-used 3D software on Valve's Steam Deck, showing that the handheld made it possible to create on the go.

In a Twitter thread started by 3D Environment/Prop Artist Mart Leander Barco, several 3D artists shared a number of posts that involved installing Blender and Unreal Engine 5 on Steam Deck and creating mesmerizing projects with it. Mart himself showed that he managed to launch the former on the handheld, supposedly, thanks to its AMD APU and Linux support.

The artist's post encouraged others to show how they combine 3D software and Steam Deck. For example, Game Developer and VFX Artist Kyrylo Samoilenko showed that the device is also capable of running Unreal Engine 5:
