Halo Fan Game Branching Sickness In Development

The first-person rogue-lite horror game is planned to be released in 2022.

If you've ever wanted Halo to be a little scarier, your fellow fans got you: Branching Sickness is a game being developed by a group of Halo fans.

In the game, you play as a marine stranded from the Spirit of Fire during the events of Halo Wars 1. You need to survive the Flood, rescue the A.I., and make it back alive.

The developers have been working on the game for 2 years and say they were inspired by Halo, Dead Space, and Diablo. They promise the game will have elements of static handcrafting and procedural generation to make it feel fresh every time you play it.

Branching Sickness will have Human and Covenant weapons from the original games.

There is no release date, but it is expected to come out in 2022. It will be free and might have a co-op mode.
