Random Control, the one behind Fryrender and Arion, has presented Maverick Studio which is a new standalone renderer for product visualizers.
Random Control, the one behind Fryrender and Arion, has presented Maverick Studio which is a new standalone renderer for product visualizers. The tool is based on an unbiased, physically traced spectral renderer with out-of-core memory management.
The engine is said to support adaptive sampling, subdivision surfaces, displacement, volumetrics, motion blur, DOF, interactive Tone mapping, and more.
A Lightmixer feature lets users assign lights to one of up to 8 available layers and adjust their color and intensity. Rendering is interactive by default and cameras are physically based with controls for focal length, f-stop, shutter speed, ISO, etc. The system also provides controls for barrel and pincushion lens distortion and the ability to render out 360° spherical or cylindrical projections.
Users can import geometry using the STEP, IGES, OBJ or ALEMBIC formats, and a ZBrush link is also here to help. Users can also generate materials using a node-based material editor that includes a long list of shader and texture types.
