Pixelated Dust Clouds Set Up in Unity

Thomas van den Berg showcases an amazing new project.

Indie Game Developer and the creator of Cloud Gardens Thomas van den Berg, a.k.a. Noio, continues the series of impressive pixel art 3D project with yet another neat setup. This time, the developer showcased a Unity-powered setup for creating pixelated dust trails, which cast accurate shadows and fade out over time. According to the author, the trails are being created by spawning "blobby meshes".

Earlier, Thomas also presented a gorgeous voxel-looking birch tree forest environment with a car driving across a bumpy bridge over a lake, created using Unity and PixPaint, the developer's custom plug-in for Blender that enables one to prepare 3D models for pixel painting.
