Tutorial: Creating Cables for SideFX's Project Titan Tech Demo

Tech Artist Simon Verstraete has released a new series of tutorials, covering the cable-creation process for the Project Titan environment.

Simon Verstraete, a Tech Artist and Project Lead for SideFX's Project Titan environment, has released a new series of tutorials in which the artist covered the process of creating cables for the tech demo. In the tutorials, Simon explained how the main cables and smaller cables were created, showed how to turn the cable setup into a tool that can be used in Houdini or in game engines, demonstrated how the Digital Asset can be brought into Unreal Engine 5, and taught how to set up UVs on the cables and work with SideFX Labs tools to prepare trim sheet textures. The series consists of 6 parts and can be watched for free.

In case you missed it, Project Titan is a stunning in-house tech demo released by SideFX. The demo was designed to test Houdini's procedural workflows while creating a 3D environment that leverages the latest technologies in Unreal Engine 5. You can learn more about the project here
