A new project Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night from Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi be-came the most funded game on Kickstarter. With $4.2 million this action-adventure is ready to set a new record.

The previous record was set by Torment: Tides of Numenera in April 2013. That game from Brian Fargo and his team gathered $4.18M. Bloodstained got even more money. No won-der, since this game is coming from one of the biggest names in the game industry.

The project is being developed with Unreal Engine 4, however there was no real gameplay footage shared during the crowdfunding pitch, just some artwork. Bloodstained will be re-leased somewhere in 2017.

Kickstarter funding for video games dropped by half in 2014 compared to 2013 ($58 million to $29 million). In 2015 everything may change with Bloodstained and other big indie projects.
