Dead Space Remake Launch Trailer Released

The developers also explained the importance of a great story and how that story has evolved from the original.

The remake of Dead Space got an official launch trailer titled Humanity Ends Here. There you can see the monsters you'll have to kill and the futuristic locations you're going to explore.

"When Isaac Clarke and the USG Kellion were dispatched to repair the USG Ishimura mining vessel, they had no idea how quickly a routine mission could turn into a complete nightmare. What did the Ishimura crew discover in the darkness? What happened to them? And what does this mean for the future of mankind itself?"

To make players even more excited, the developers published a new blog, discussing the importance of a great story and how that story has evolved from the original. The team recognized that a big part of the project is knowing when not to add their flavor to the story.

“All the departments approached it with the same philosophy,” said Lead Level Designer Catherine Stewart. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. For the most part, it was all about leaving alone the beats that made the game so great, and improving the ones that were problematic, where we thought we could do better. Walking that line was often difficult, but I think we struck a really good balance.”

Many of the changes were done for the sake of consistency and continuity, some secondary characters, like Nicole and Mercer, also got more screen time, agency, and" overall personality". Isaac is also "more involved in events and solving problems".

Dead Space is going to be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on January 27, 2023.
