Smooth Boolean Plugin for 3DS Max
2 April, 2019

KM-3D has recently presented Smooth Boolean, a new paid plugin for 3DS Max that lets users create smooth transitions between ProBoolean meshes.

Here are some details on the plugin’s features:

  • ABILITY TO HANDLE COMPLEX BOOLEANS. Smooth Boolean was tested by a few beta testers for months. As any fresh software, it may cause an unexpected error, but such situations are extremely rare.
  • QUAD INTERSECTIONS. With Smooth Boolean your objects can intersect with each other without any issues. It is able to handle triple edge intersections and build smooth quad cap meshes at those points.
  • FOCUS ON WHAT’S IMPORTANT IN GRAPHICS DESIGN. Instead of thinking about how to guide an edgeloop to achieve the shape you need after mesh subdivision.

Smooth Boolean is said to be with 3DS Max 2013 and above. It would costs you $99, but you can also get your hands on a free demo. Learn more on KM-3D’s website.

The goal of the ClearCut courses is to teach you a solid workflow that is used in the AAA game industry. The first episode covers the process of creating an AAA fire hydrant from start to finish.

Any future updates are included and will be available for download in case they are released. Next episodes are not included.
