System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition Will Get VR Mode

The VR mode is currently in development by Nightdive Studios’ VR development team.

Nightdive Studios’ CEO Stephen Kick confirmed the rumors that the studio is working on the new feature for System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition.

Back in January, there was a teasing tweet with Kick playing System Shock 2 with VR controllers. Later, in the interview with IGN, he revealed the details.

During the process of reverse-engineering the missing libraries for System Shock 2, we had an opportunity to play around with the idea of creating a standalone VR version. And so we brought on an [VR] expert to look about the cod and give us a brief idea of what kind of things we could do.
