this is so cool! as someone who doesn't really understand the process of making simulations, i liked the explanations and it makes me appreciate the amount of work and creativity that's involved in making them.

Breakdown: Recreating Miles From Spider-Verse

The team behind FlippedNormals has recently shared a video breakdown of their tribute they did to Into The Spider-Verse. The model really nails the aesthetics of the film.

“In this making of, we’ll show you how we created our version of the Spider-Man suit Miles Morales wears in the film — Into the Spider-Verse.”

The work is mostly done in ZBrush, but with a lot of comp on top done in Photoshop.

The team pointed out that it was quite challenging, but it was definitely worth it.

Spider-Man took “around 12 hours from start to finish, but around 2 weeks with editing and everything else!”
